Shore Amora’s Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibilities: Uplifting Bali’s Communities

At Shore Amora, our connection to Bali runs deeper than providing exceptional hospitality—it is rooted in a shared responsibility to nurture and uplift the local community. Guided by the principles of Tri Hita Karana, the Balinese philosophy of harmony among people, nature, and the divine, our Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) initiatives are a testament to our dedication to sustainable tourism and cultural preservation.

Embracing Pawongan: Harmony Among People

A core component of our CSR philosophy is Pawongan, a concept that emphasizes fostering harmony and understanding among people. At Shore Amora, we view this as an opportunity to create meaningful connections between our resort, guests, and the surrounding community.

Our CSR program goes beyond donations; it’s about creating impactful, long-term initiatives. By working closely with local communities, we ensure that our efforts contribute to both immediate needs and sustainable growth. From educational projects to supporting vulnerable groups, our goal is to uplift the lives of those who make Bali the vibrant cultural hub it is today.

A Heartfelt Visit to a Local Orphanage

One of our recent CSR activities involved visiting a local orphanage that shelters 33 children aged 8 to 18. These children come from diverse and often challenging backgrounds. Some have faced abandonment, violence, or extreme poverty, while others hail from remote areas such as Nusa Penida and Karangasem.

Among the children are four extraordinary individuals living with disabilities, including visual, hearing, and speech impairments. Despite their circumstances, the children exude resilience and hope, their smiles radiating dreams of a brighter future.

During the visit, we learned that the orphanage faces significant challenges. Daily necessities like rice, eggs, and side dishes are often in short supply, and the lack of permanent donors threatens the sustainability of their operations.

Our team, with contributions from our hotel’s guests and staff, delivered essential supplies to the orphanage. This act of kindness was met with gratitude and joy, reinforcing the importance of community-driven support.

The Broader Vision: CSR as a Way of Life

At Shore Amora, our CSR efforts are not just occasional acts of giving—they are part of a larger vision to make tourism a force for good. By aligning our programs with the Manguning Wheel Experience, specifically under the Neighbourhood pillar, we ensure that our actions contribute to the well-being of Bali’s communities in meaningful ways.

This approach is not about launching campaigns for recognition; it’s about embedding a culture of kindness and inclusivity into our daily practices.

Our General Manager, Putu Prima Hartawan, aptly describes this ethos:

“Our CSR efforts are about sharing joy and ensuring that Bali’s tourism benefits everyone, especially those in need. Moving forward, we aim to involve more stakeholders and expand our initiatives, making giving back not just an effort but a way of life.”

Creating Ripples of Change

The impact of Shore Amora’s CSR program extends far beyond the local community. Every guest who stays with us contributes to these efforts, whether through direct support or simply by being part of a resort that prioritizes sustainability and cultural preservation.

Our vision is to inspire others to take part in creating a more inclusive and supportive Bali. Through small but meaningful actions, we aim to foster a culture of giving that ensures everyone, especially the most vulnerable, can benefit from the island’s thriving tourism industry.
